At the beginning of july 1977, two french collectors, Gerard Schmitt (schmitti) and Alain Guignard ( guignardi) collected in Liberia and south SL. Back from SL to Monrovia, they collected young C. monroviae in a ditch at 24 miles from Robertsport to Monrovia. They brought them back alive to france, bred and distributed this population under the name "Robertsport".
